You can almost see his thoughts. He’s wondering if it’s worth it. He’s a man of his word, but it’s brutal. He’s literally getting the life beat out of him. He’s close to his breaking point, what with know Brendan’s there and everything with his father and just ALL of it. He made a promise to Manny, to take care of his family. But can he actually do it? Tommy begins to wonder if he’s actually strong enough. For the first time, maybe he’s not as strong and ruthless as he thinks he is.
And then he hears it. He hears his name above the roaring crowd. His name over everything else. And he sees them. His brothers. They’re there. They’re chanting his name. They’re pushing him. They’re there for him. His brothers’ in uniform are his family. In that moment, they know him and support him better and more than anybody else has before. And it pushes him forward, pushes him on.
